HISTORY

Softball, as well as baseball, make their first steps in Bulgaria at the end of the 80s. The Bulgarian Baseball and Softball Federation was established in 1988 and then was created the first softball team in the Baseball Softball club The Akademiks. It did not take long for other teams to appear in the towns of Dupnitza, Stara Zagora and Blagoevgrad.

The first softball tournament was held in 1992.

The first softball championship takes place in 1993 with the participation of the teams of Akademiks Sofia, Devils Dupnitza, Junak Sofia and Warriors Stara Zagora , the winner is Devils.

6 National championships and 2 Cups of Bulgaria were played under the direction of the united federation.

The Bulgarian Softball Federation was established in 1998 after the separation of the current Bulgarian Baseball Softball Federation.

Right now BSF has 8 club members from Sofia, Dupnitza and Blagoevgrad.
